Emergency Command Operations Building Design

Akana and VNSFS led a multidisciplinary team in the development of a design for a new 14,000 square-foot, single-story building housing emergency command operations for a federal facility located in Nevada. The building consists of an emergency operations center, training rooms, offices, electrical/mechanical rooms, and a kitchen/break room.

The Akana/VNSFS team provided project management, and structural and civil engineering services as contract holder. Site services included grading, storm water collection, xeriscaping and the design of an antenna equipment yard. The design is representative of a LEED Gold building and required to meet Federal High Performance Sustainable Building (HPSB) standards. The team continued support with construction administration services and building commissioning oversight.
